It is important that staff understand what it will mean to the way they will be working in the future.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Important message: social services<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">social workers in adults &amp; children services this is going to affect you just as much as those staff working in services identified as bundles or stand alone services. The <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">access &amp; assessment<\/span><\/strong> group are due to report in October and it is clear their recommendations are going to impact on the way you work. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"MsoListBullet\">\u201cOne public sector approach\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/h2>\n<p class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The \u2018one Barnet public sector\u2019 has many advantages if it includes:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Improves democratic accountability, participation and transparency of all the public bodies providing services in Barnet.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Increases citizen involvement in designing services and actively participating in governance.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">A commitment to continuing in-house provision of services on value for money and public interest terms.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">A commitment to transparency and disclosure so that staff and trade unions have confidence that the consolidation process is genuine.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Jointly agreed corporate best practice templates to ensure improvement strategies are fully addressed, options appraisal and business cases<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0pt; mso-list: none; tab-stops: 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">A commitment to TUPE Plus and secondment employment options and no compulsory redundancies.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoListBullet\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>The trade unions want to be engaged in a consolidation process which:<o:p><\/o:p><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"MARGIN: 0pt;
