Capita Symonds One Barnet Bidders for the DRS project promoting ‘insourcing’
Capita Symonds one of two private sector bidders for the £275 million Development and Regulatory Services (DRS) contract have recently published an article in Highways Magazine. Thearticle is attributed to Shoaib Mohammad (Highways Directior at Capita). The article describes a strategic partnership which involves the operational elements of the service being retained in the Council. The article goes on to say
“the HAMIS project demonstrates that achieving efficiencies in a public sector setup is possible through and ‘insourcing’ model which has enable all stakeholders to retain full commercial and budgetary transparency – while avoiding TUPE transfer and redundancies- as well as ensuring maximum cashable savings for the local authority.”
A service delivery model which avoids TUPE and redundancy yet still delivers efficiences, I am sure our members and UNISON will be interested to hear more details.
